orchid flower box tutorial

This is my first tutorial all measurements and tutorial have been designed by myself hope you like it

Orchid flower box and flower tutorial.

this box uses up quite a lot of card stock so be prepared
for the background 6" x 11 3/4"  (inside back and the box back ) 2 needed 1for the  front 1 for the  back
6" x 11 3/4" ( you will need 2 of these ) sides
6" x 6" ( you will need 2 of these ) top and bottom
2" x 2" folded in half ( 4 needed for tabs )

with the 6" on the top you will need to score at 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 on all 4 pieces
only on the 6 x 6 you will need to turn the card so that the 3/4 is at the top and score to the second line at 3/4 and 5 1/2
using this line cut away and the cut at an angle out wards on each one to create the shape above
you then need to attach the double sided tape to each section as below on both sides
you will then need to make your tabs for the sides these are 2" x 2" folded in half and double sided tape applied to the back of each one
attach these to the 6" x 6" as shown
so you now have some tabs coming off the wider sections
attach all sections to an 6" x  11 3/4 " this is the background as shown
fold in all the sides to form a box using the tabs on the side

then bring each section in and under to create a shadow box as shown
this is the front of your box done now for the back using the other 6"x 11 3/4" backing turn over and apply to the back coving up all the joining section from the sides
if you wanted you could cut a smaller bit of card in white and add a sentiment or message and send it to a friend

for the pot I used the popcorn die box and cut down each score line to 3/4" and folded over the sections cutting away the extra tabs used to glue the box together then assembled the box as normal then fill the bottom with florist oasis and glue in to place fill the top with moss and also glue in to place
to make the wire I measured the length I needed moulding it to the shape I also required in the box leaving a little extra for the stem to go in to the pot , I then cut smaller sections of wire and covered them in florist green tape and attached each on to where I would want a flower head ,
using the orchid stamp set and die I cut out 3 large and 6 small orchids and shaped them to be a 3d effect when each one was assembled then I hot glued them to the florist wire and left to cool down
I used some green card stock and cut lengths from 3" to 4" and then used the envelope punch board to curve the corners I then coloured then using the range of green inks and when over the top with some glitter pens to bring each colour out more attaching them to soma florist wire

add your orchid stem to the pot and hot glue in place adding the leaves and bending the wire round add glue to the bottom of the popcorn box and add to the bottom of the box frame bending and shaping the orchid and leaves to fit.
and you have your finished project hope you enjoyed it
